Meet The Models: Nick

This meet-up has been years in the making. Nick and I met in this Facebook group called “Meggings Rebels” and I knew I wanted to shoot with him from day-one.

We’ve been trying to make this happen for ages, including meeting in Manhattan since I’m there all the time, but with COVID and all of that, it just didn’t look like a shoot was going to be in the cards.

Fast forward to May 2023 when I needed to fly into the exact city he lives in for a work trip - it finally happened - and I finally got to show Nick just how good he was going to be in front of the camera.

Was I right? I think so. You can see for yourself. But I feel like we did a great job showing off the latest Kapow Meggings styles, and it was great to connect after all these years.

Nick is big on showing others that it’s okay to be you and dress how you want to dress and not worry about what everyone else thinks. That’s very inspiring not only to me but to the other guys in the various groups we’re a part of. I think it’s a safe bet to say that he’s a legend in the meggings world. I know that I’m certainly better for knowing him.

NAME:  Nick

WHAT IS YOUR STORY? Geez. Me? Short version is I'm a dad (x4), married (by Elvis in Vegas, 2013), vegan for as long as I can remember, and I write (fiction, mostly horror). Long version is: I'll have a high school grad and a pre-k initiate next year -- as well as 2 in between. The singing Elvis ceremony was perfectly campy and hilarious. I've been writing all my life -- again, mostly horror, with forays into comedy -- but only recently attempted to get published. I've sold a half dozen stories to a handful of venues in that time. I'm super proud of that work. Unfortunately, it hasn't made me rich yet. One of my recent stories is included in a book called Mother: Tales of Love and Terror, which was nominated for a Stoker Award. For the uninitiated (like me, ca. 2020) The Stokers are like the Oscars of horror writing -- but better at honoring diverse and independent creators. I worked in radio for the better part of the '00s and have taken my vocal skills over to my love of fiction and started voicing books and stories for YouTube & Audible.

BOXERS OR BRIEFS OR...? The Short answer here is: NO BOXERS! Long answer: is it stretchy?

HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PARTICULAR STYLE? I like to think of it as American Gladiators X Punk Rock Wedding

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT MEGGINGS? Honestly? They feel like home, yeah? Like, the fit and comfort I always wanted.

WHEN DO YOU FEEL MOST CONFIDENT? That's a tough question. I rarely feel confident. I'd have to say that IF i feel confident, it's when recording audiobooks.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE YOUR NEXT GREAT ACHIEVEMENT WILL BE? I have 3 books (a novel, novella, & story collection) that I'd like to sell for real money

WHAT IS THE BRAVEST THING YOU’VE DONE? I don't consider myself or my actions brave. I see brave people all the time. But not in the mirror.

YOU SEEM TO WEAR MEGGINGS JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE. WHERE IS ONE SITUATION WHERE YOU *DON'T* SEE MEGGINGS BEING A GOOD FIT? I mean, if you're not pulling that ‘look at my mooseknuckle’ nonsense, that situation doesn't exist. I've dressed them up, I've dressed them down. Sleep, work, chill, party … as long as you coordinate responsibly, meggs can go anywhere.

WHAT IS AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE YOU’VE BEEN A PART OF? Babies being born, Elvis wedding, being published alongside an author I admire.

HOW DO YOU FEEL IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA? Pick your favorite cliche: Imma say fish out of water,

WHAT IS THE MOST UNEXPECTED, POSITIVE FEEDBACK YOU'VE GOTTEN ABOUT YOUR MEGGINGS? "Now I have a new appreciation for how hard it is for guys to look us ladies in the eyes."

WHICH MALE CELEBRITY WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SEE IN A PAIR OF KAPOW MEGGINGS?  All I'm going to say is it's not Kanye.
